Commissioned by UNDP in 2010, this is a report of the findings of a desk review of approaches, tools and methods to tackle corruption in the education sector. The aim is to assist in identifying the conditions for good practices and their replication. Most of the documents reviewed pertained to the formal public education sector, covering primary, secondary and post-secondary education, including reports of anti-corruption interventions from a range of agencies, academic papers and manuals and guidelines from agencies and civil society
organizations (CSOs). The review did not consider broader governance initiatives at macro or national level or explore the special circumstances of post-conflict and fragile states.
